Day 01, Panafric Hotel – Bed & Breakfast

Upon arrival in Nairobi, proceed through Immigration and Customs. After exiting the Customs & immigrations Hall, Please look out for a Zoar Tours & Safari’s driver/guide holding a Zoar Tours Banner with your name on it. Our Guide will assist you with your luggage and you will be transferred to Panafric hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 02 , Larsens Tented Camp – Full Board

After breakfast transfer to the airport for you flight to Samburu National Reserve and upon arrival transfer to Larsens Tented Camp. This afternoon you'll have a game drive to view unusual species rarely seen outside of this region. Grevy’s zebra with its distinctive narrow striped, Reticulated giraffe with its geometric pattern, the shy long-necked Gerenuk which stands erect on its hind legs to feed on the tender leaves of the high tree branches, and the Blue-necked Somali ostrich, among a variety of others.

The land of rocky soil and scrubland, Bird enthusiasts will be rewarded with a wealth of species attracted to the palm tree-lined permanent waters of the river. Photographers will appreciate the dramatic backdrop of Ololokwe Mountain. We'll eagerly search for leopards lounging high on tree limbs. There will be time to relax by the pool in between game drives. At the end of the day, you'll savor the quiet activity of the river.

Day 03, Larsens Tented Camp – Full Board

Your schedule for today includes an early morning and late afternoon game drives. Travelling through the landscape which is rugged and dramatic - against a backdrop of volcanic mountains, gaunt hills and withered scrub tree punctuate the sparse and dry terrain with clusters of the incredibly hardy desert rose providing the occasional flash of vivid color. The Ewaso Nyiro River, lifeline of the area, runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu from Buffalo Springs Reserve.

Crocodile and hippo share the river with the many small herds of elephant which bathe and frolic in the muddy brown waters during the heat of the day before returning later to browse on the lush vegetation of the riverine forest. Buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and plains game may also be seen but a special feature of this Reserve. Over 50 species of large mammals including reticulated giraffe, grevys zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali ostrich, hippo, crocodiles, gerenuk, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. Large flocks of helmeted and vulturine guinea fowls are a common attraction.



Day 04, Mara Serena Lodge – Full Board

Excitement and expectations build as you fly to the Maasai Mara with its myth-like stories of bountiful wildlife. Afternoon, enjoy a game viewing drive in this world renown reserve. Maasai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, and punctuated by marshes and forests. Certainly the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, this 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere. During the seasonal migrations, Maasai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. The reserve is home to all the “big five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal and cheetah. The rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles. Maasai Mara topography creates a unique bio-diverse area, providing guests with the opportunity to venture into the savannah covered with hundreds or even thousands of animals of many different species.

Day 05, Mara Serena Lodge – Full Board

Enjoy the entire day in the Maasai Mara with early morning game drive, optional balloon safari at an extra cost and an afternoon game drive. Optional Activities: Balloon Safari, Bush Breakfast/Dinner, Visit to the Maasai Village. These vast grasslands are rich with herds of zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and topis. With huge grazing herds, voracious attendant predators, including Africa’s largest population of lions, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, rhino and bountiful birdlife, the Mara is the staging ground for the annual wildebeest great migration. Your game drives are rousing exploits in the company of guides who regale you with bush lore, educate us on conservation and entertain us with tall tales. Here we also experience a Maasai village visit, so foreign and yet so welcoming, and a Bush Walk to indulge all of our senses. And the climax? Bush Sundowners a unique joy of safari life, where one savors the exotic contradiction of a civilized cocktail party staged in the untamed wildness of Africa.

Day 06, Lake Manyara Serena Lodge– Full Board

After morning breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a morning flight to Nairobi, to connect midday flight to Kilimanjaro where our contact person awaits to collect you. We make our way to the ancient lake of Manyara, where game is plentiful and the bird watching magnificent. It is also one of the few places in Africa to see treeclimbing lions, which we may declare our day’s quest. Our deluxe accommodations at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge overlook the gleaming water below, where we may spy some of the area’s trademark pink flamingoes.

Day 07 / 08, Serengeti Serena Lodge – Full Board

Today we depart early to another legendary safari setting where the vast ecosystem plays host to the planet’s most awesome wildlife spectacle. So awesome, in fact, that the Serengeti is a World Heritage Site and listed as an International Biosphere Reserve. Its arching landscapes embody quintessential Africa…golden and endless. Long peaceful days at the Serengeti Serena Lodge bring the rewards of excellent game viewing and utter tranquility.

Day 09, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge– Full Board

The Great Rift Valley is called the “Cradle of Mankind” thanks in part to the discoveries of the Leakey family at Olduvai Gorge, where human fossils date back almost two million years. Continuing to the next remarkable site, Ngorongoro Crater, you marvel at what is unofficially known as the “eighth wonder of the natural world.” This ancient amphitheatre forms a unique haven for wildlife with over 20,000 animals thriving in its near perfect conditions. We stay at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, which hugs the crater’s rim and offers vast vistas over the Crater’s shimmering reaches.

Day 10, Ngorongoro Serena Lodge – Full Board

As sunrise streaks the early sky, we head into this magical two-and-a-half- million-year-old caldera. With landscapes unchanged since the dawn of time, the sheer number of species here is incomparable. Elephants, hippos, cheetahs, lions, zebras with every turn of the head, the remarkable variety of wildlife here will astound us. Returning to the rustic serenity of the Serena, we may relax by a roaring fire and savour breathtaking views of the crater below.

Day 11, Farewell Dinner

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for the afternoon flight to Nairobi. Have a city tour and shopping. Later you will be transferred to Carnivore Restaurant. The Carnivore is considered ‘Africa's Greatest Eating Experience. A variety of meats including a selection of exotic meat is roasted over charcoal and carved at your table on traditional Maasai swords (skewers). Delicious side dishes and an exceptional array of sauces complement this fixed price feast that also includes soup, a selection of desserts and Kenyan coffee.
